Fox NFL and Burger King sponsor cartoon ridiculing Jessica Simpson’s weight gain

Ad Age reported this past weekend that Fox NFL Sunday played the cartoon above, ridiculing Jessica Simpson’s weight gain earlier this year.

Really? This is the best they can do?  Does anyone even still care the girl put on maybe 15 pounds so many months ago?  And even though she did put on a bit of weight, why do they care so much?

I find it pretty pathetic. Are their writers fifth grade boys, where all they know how to do is make fun of people instead of coming up with something witty or clever?

I also found it pretty amusing a skit surrounding weight gain wasn’t just from Fox, but was also sponsored by Burger King.  Yes, Burger King.

Just in case anyone’s forgotten they’re the company that sells the almost 1,200 calorie Triple Whopper with 76 grams of Fat, 27 of them Saturated (I think it Triple Whopper should come with a defibrillator.  Or at least change it’s name to more appropriate one, like The Heart Stopper Special.)

Update:  It seems as though they’ve requested the NFL skit be removed from YouTube, so you can see part of the video on CNN.

  1. Vince says:

They pulled the ad and issued an apology so quickly though… Fox needs drop some of their tea-party inciters and hire some commercial reviewers.

  2. The absolute worst part?

    It wasn’t even funny.
