I hope Computer Engineer Barbie doesn’t get Outsourced to India
Mattel unveiled Barbie’s 126th career – Computer Engineer – which was decided based on votes from fans all over the world. News Anchor Barbie won the Girls’ vote and became Barbie’s 125th career, but Barbie also gave us a surprise – Barbie’s 126th career.
According to the director of Barbie marketing for Mattel, voting for the Computer Engineer Barbie became viral amongst women in the tech industry, so much so, that many votes also poured in for a Computer Engineer career for Barbie. Because this popular vote went to Computer Engineer Barbie, Mattel couldn’t resist but to reward Barbie with a 126th career choice as well.
Computer engineer Barbie will be released in winter 2010, and comes equipped with a Smartphone, Bluetooth headset and a laptop.

MmmmmmK. Because news anchors and computer engineers dress like hussies.
She doesn’t even have a pocket protector?! What type of stereotype is Barbie supposed to be reinforcing?
hmmm… but I have all those things, and I’m not a Computer Engineer. But then, I don’t look like Barbie, either.
She sure is stylin for being a tech geek.
Best.
